Rosebud
Rosebud Alberta, population 95, is a hamlet on the outskirts
of Calgary. The energy boom has been good to the people of Rosebud.
The town's people are profiting from coal bed methane gas extraction
and surplus income throughout the region has brought the Rosebud
Dinner Theatre to new heights. But life in the boom cannot be
perfect, people are aware that fossil fuel extraction is hurting
their environment, but it also brings forth unprecedented wealth
and opportunity. A moral dilemma? Rosebud is a perfect microcosm
of life in Alberta today.
